Barry Town were comprehensively beaten 4-1 by GAP Connah's Quay FC in a Cymru Premier match on Saturday, a result that deepens their struggles this season. J. Lester scored a late consolation goal for the home side, but it did little to mask a disappointing performance.
GAP Connah's Quay took control early. J. Hodkin opened the scoring in the 19th minute, and H. Franklin added a quickfire double with goals in the 30th and 37th minutes. Hodkin netted his second just after the hour mark to make it four. Barry Town's only reply came when J. Lester, who had come on as a substitute, found the net in the 68th minute.
The defeat leaves Barry Town ninth in the Cymru Premier standings with 22 points from 11 games. Their recent form shows just one win in their last five matches.
Barry Town's discipline was also an issue, with D. Barton and N. Daley both receiving yellow cards in the first half. The team made several changes during the match, including introducing R.
