Barry Town suffered a heavy 5-2 defeat away to Colwyn Bay on Friday night, conceding five times after establishing a two-goal lead in the first half. The result is a major setback for a side that had started the season strongly, sitting second in the Cymru Premier with 22 points from nine games.
Nicky Daley opened the scoring for the visitors after half an hour, and Morgan George doubled the advantage six minutes later. However, Colwyn Bay pulled one back before the break through Dafydd Poole and then ran riot after the interval. Niall Peate equalised three minutes into the second half, with Jamie Davies putting the hosts ahead on 57 minutes. Sean Forde and a late strike from Morgan Hill completed the scoring for Colwyn Bay.
The defeat halts Barry Town's momentum and leaves them three points behind leaders The New Saints. Their recent form now reads two wins, one draw and two losses from their last five matches.
