Flint Town United have dismissed manager Lee Fowler following a winless beginning to the Cymru Premier campaign. The club confirmed the move this week, concluding Fowler's time in charge that started in June 2022.
The team is positioned 15th in the standings, having not won any of their first 10 league matches. Their last game was a 4-1 loss to Airbus UK on Friday, which became Fowler's final match leading the side.
Chairman Darryl Williams recognized the choice was hard. "The decision to change manager was made all the more difficult by the fact that Lee is such a lovely human being," Williams stated.
Fowler's leadership at Cestrian Park saw notable successes and setbacks. The club was relegated from the Cymru Premier in his initial season but won promotion back the next year. In the previous campaign, they made it to the Welsh Cup final, where they were defeated 3-0 by Caernarfon Town.
The ex-Coventry City, Huddersfield Town and Wrexham player now leaves as the Silkmen look for a fresh path. For Barry Town, positioned fifth on 22 points, this managerial shift at a rival club occurs before their upcoming home match against Trefelin.
